Lillian Mei

Lillian Mei Davies
July 26, 2018-7:43pm-6lbs 12oz-20.5 inches

Where to start... Dad and I were so excited to find out you were a girl. Now Luke can have a sister to protect, pick on, and play with. We also had your name picked out forever ago! You would be our Lillian, Lily for short. Your due date was 7/29 and thankfully you didn’t make me wait as long to meet you as your brother Luke did. Especially in this extreme heat we are having in July! Mom and Dad went to work that morning like normal and then I had a doctors appointment that afternoon. The doctor said everything was looking great, you just needed to decide to come. After the doctors appointment Dad and I went on a lunch date and headed to pick up your brother from Grandmas. At lunch mom was starting have contractions, but this was normal for the last 2 weeks.

By 5pm I was contracting every 5 minutes. Mom was scared that if she went to the hospital to soon she would have to just come back home. Finally Dad convinced Mom to just go in. Grandma came and got your brother and into the car and off to the hospital we went. We live so close to the hospital Dad thought it would be funny to go around the round about twice. Mom didn’t think it was so funny at the time... we got checked in to the hospital and the nurse checked everything out. I was already dilated to a 7 and you were on your way! '

By 6pm I had finally gotten my epidural (thank goodness) and by 7pm it was pushing time. Everything just went so fast!!! When you decided to come you just wanted to get it done in a hurry! The epidural this time was great. I could still feel pressure and it helped so much more then being all the way numb. Dad was there to help the whole time and I am so glad he is the one by my side. (Sorry mushy lovely Mom/Dad moment 😊) Dad could see your dark hair and you have lots of it. Finally only 40 ish minutes later you arrived. 7:43pm to be exact.

When they put you on my chest I couldn’t believe you were already here. I had just heard your heart beat that morning and here you were! You looked like mom but you got dads nose. You had your eyes open and wide awake ready to take on the world. Mom was super nervous on how she could love not one beautiful child but now two. But you will never need to worry about that because my heart made more room for you instantly. I couldn’t wait for you to meet your brother, Luke but I loved that We could spend this special moment together. The nurse stole you for a minute and took your measurements. You were so small! Only 6 lbs and 12 oz. but you made up for it in length at 20.5 inches long. Perfect in every way! (You also scored a 10 on your second APGAR.... it’s a nursing term for being healthy and it’s rare to get a full 10. Way to go girl! ☺️)

Visitors started coming right away. You are so loved by everyone in your family! We love you so much and I can’t wait to see what beauty you bring to our little family. I just hope that you will learn to love everyone, be kind, and follow the gospel through out your life. Always remember your worth and that when all else fails your Mommy, Daddy and Brother will always always be there for you!
